Students Built Rockets launched from the school premises on Wednesday – 4th October 2023

Drawing inspiration from the remarkable success of ISRO’s Chandrayaan mission and Aditya L1 launch, the students from Kautilya Vidyalaya from Mysore built Rockets and launched from the school premises on Wednesday – 4th October 2023. It stood as a tribute to India’s achievements in space exploration. The workshop, strategically aligned with the first day of World Space Week, added a global context to this significant local milestone.

Expert trainers from Genex Space, Bengaluru, a leading organization in space education, skillfully guided students through a comprehensive exploration of rocketry. The workshop covered fundamental concepts, the rich history and evolution of rocket technology, and provided insights into experimental rocketry. A pivotal focus of the workshop was the hands-on session, where groups of students actively engaged in designing and constructing model rockets.

The workshop concluded with a thrilling rocket launch, where these student-built rockets soared into the skies. The entire school, parents, teachers’ neighbours of the schools witnessed the Rockets getting launched from Kautilya Grounds. This symbolic moment they represented the culmination of their collective efforts and newfound expertise, marking another historic achievement for Mysore after over 2 centuries. Over 40 students from the school took part in it, and Kautilya Vidyalaya sponsored the entire program and took a giant leap of introducing space education for school students in Mysore and ignited a passion for aerospace technology among the students.

As a result of this thrill learning process among students, The Chairman, Shri.T. Babu has planned to install a Space Lab very soon in the school premises for the betterment of the students.
